Maria Papasotiri

Since 2009, Maria Papasotiri is the Head of TCM’s educational department and since 2016, she is the Head of TCM supervising the coordination, organization and implementation of all actions and events that take place in the museum. Moreover, she is involved as one of the members of the film selection team in the Next Gen section, the educational programme of the Thessaloniki International Film Festival and the Thessaloniki International Documentary Festival. She was the Coordinator of the MEDIA funded European Programs, ‘Learning by Docs’ between 2020-2022 (Nextus, educational documentary platform) implemented by DocsBarcelona, Thessaloniki Film Festival and DOC.Fest.Munich, EUFORIA between 2016 – 2017 as well as the Erasmus program “We are Filmmakers (WAF)” 2020 – 2022, implemented by three cultural institutions, the Marseille Documentary Film Festival, the Thessaloniki International Film Festival, the Madrid Film Archive and three different schools.

As a full-time administrative employee at the Thessaloniki Cinema Museum since 2003, Maria Papasotiri has coordinated various cultural projects. She holds a Master’s Degree in Communication and Culture at the School of Journalism and Mass Communication Humanities, AUTh. Moreover, she has a Bachelor’s degree in Humanities with a direction in Greek Culture and a Degree in Tourism Professions.
