Constance Rivière (she/her) has been Managing Director of the Palais de la Porte Dorée since September 2022.

A graduate of the École normale supérieure and the École nationale d’administration, Constance Rivière was a member of the cabinet of the President of the French Republic from 2012 to 2017, as special advisor on culture and citizenship, after serving as deputy director of his cabinet and advisor on institutions, society and civil liberties.

From 2017 to 2022, she was General Secretary of the Défenseur des droits (independent administrative authority). She is a State Councillor. Constance Rivière is also involved in various initiatives in the cultural and social fields, as a member of the boards of Bibliothèques sans frontières, the Philharmonie de Paris, the Rencontres de la photographie d’Arles, and president of the board of Place de la Culture, which brings artists closer to social structures. A writer, she is the author of three novels, Une fille sans histoire, La maison des solitudes, La vie des ombres (éditions Stock).
