Anja Sommer

Anja Sommer is head of Cooperations Unit at the Deutsches Hygiene-Museum. Since 2018, she has been coordinating the process to increase the museum's diversity as part of the 360° programme of the German Federal Cultural Foundation and, since 2020, the cross-departmental project ‘Museums as active spaces of democracy’. Apart from this she is responsible for acquiring third-party funding for all projects of the Museum.

She studied European Ethnology and Cultural Studies in Birmingham and Berlin. After a two-year traineeship, she worked for several years as a curator and project manager in the exhibitions department of the Deutsches Hygiene-Museum.
